WHEELBARROW
due to be available (soon?)
Not sure when we'll get this done. I promised myself that regardless of how much time I spend facilitating other people's musical needs, I will still continue to write and make my own music for as long as I breathe. In 2007 I realized I had almost two albums of material worthy of Evening Train, indeed a sequel of sorts. Will Lee, Shawn Pelton, Billy Masters and I went in and did rhythm tracks live at what was then Legacy Recording Studios on 48th Street in Manhattan. The place is now called Manhattan Sound Recording. Where did the material come from and what is the vibe???
It is rawer and more Gospel oriented but in a questioning and intense manner; on the edge of the fence. Easily more Blues based and with more guitar breaks but still there are the ruminative pieces like "Consider It Joy." I want it to be crunchier and I don't want Auto Tuned vocals within 100 miles of the project. Real music made by real people. Ahhhhhh...... ain't such a bad thing is it?????
In 2005, Steve Lurie who books some of the better concerts in the NYC area as Music Without Borders (http://www.musicconsultant.net/) booked me into Satalla, this wonderful world music club in Manhattan that is now closed. In the months preceding I basically lived in my music room. Meals were passed through a hole in the door and I took a rare piece of time for myself to write Evening Train's sequel. I had compiled pages and pages of lyrics in the years prior and now just needed to set them and complete a batch of material. I wrote about 15 songs over a month and added a few more to that list over the next two years.
Now I just needed to raise a bit of money to get into the studio. Two years later we laid down rhythm tracks and then life took over again and I haven't touched the stuff. I want to finish it in the next 12 months. I think it is going to be a doozy. Chris Jordan's photographs, many of which are contained in this site, will be the featured artwork.
List of Songs recorded:
Chilly Water
Full Of Hallelujahs
Christ Came Back and Trashed The Cathedral

I should probably start a fund to finish it but it is my job to make it and then send it out there, not yours. I'll get it done. It may just take a bit. --Rob
